The Summer season has now officially over and we have had a wonderful few months with our Tack Room, tractor barn, Wood Shed, children’s playground and Archie’s nature trail all being put to great use.
As we move into the Autumn, please remember that the tractor barn, nature trail, children’s play area and the Wood Shed, (our dog friendly indoor eating area), remain open for you to enjoy.
With the schools now back, our attention turns to pumpkins. This year has seen the introduction of our first onsite pumpkin patch. One acre has been set aside behind the falconry centre where we are growing our own Harvest Moon variety. Fingers crossed for a good harvest and all being well, gates to the patch will open for the first weekend in October so do pull on your wellies and pick a pumpkin.
Beyond the pumpkins, we do of course have planning well underway for Christmas. Our management team have been busy designing this years Christmas menus, order lists, hamper ranges and promotional material in readiness for the run in. Please keep looking out for updates on our website and weekly email bulletins.
On the farm, the wet weather has meant for a long, drawn-out harvest with our arable partners only recently being able to get the last of the beans in. Alongside this, the groundwork continues at pace to ensure that all of the Autumn sowing is complete on time.
The winter months traditionally allow for yard based re grouping, sorting and maintenance to take place. This year will be no exception and with the first phases of our Wildlife Conservation Project about to commence. More information to follow next month.
