Jeremy Jagger's Monthly Blog – August 2025

Summer seems a distant memory already, with the weather noticeably more Autumnal – and schools and colleges returning. With that however, a new Season brings new plans and ideas. More about this shortly.

August continued as July finished with endless sunshine and the opportunity for visitors to enjoy our outside offerings and activities. Our first dip into the Sunflower business has proven to be a great success and I’m also delighted with how the Maize Maze performed just next door. Thoughts and ideas are already forming into how next year's 'Pick your own' field might look. Thank you to you all for coming and supporting this new addition to Battlefield1403.

Alongside our outside areas, our catering operations have had a wonderful season, and my sincere thanks goes to all our staff involved, both full time and to our students for all their hard work in the café areas, the Tack Room kiosk and the occasional event BBQ.

Back to the new plans and ideas for the Autumn – our Chefs are busy putting together our Autumn Menu, to be launched on 24thSeptember. With a new Menu, our home cooked produce range in the shop incorporates fresh products too, including some meal option ideas to help you make your decision making a little easier!

Our Butchers are now developing their counter produce and displays to reflect the cooler weather, and this is echoed in the shop. Some exciting new products are on their way, so please do drop in soon.

Back in the field I am reminded of the next event on our calendar and the Pumpkin season will be with us soon. As with the other crops, the warm Summer has bought everything forward, and the Pumpkins are no exception, so please look out for updates on our emails and social media posts.

Thank you for your valued support over the Summer and I look forward to welcoming you to site again shortly.
