Battle of Shrewsbury Exhibition

Telling the story of the Battle of Shrewsbury

The battle of Shrewsbury was a battle fought on 21 July 1403, waged between the Lancastrian King, Henry lV, and a rebel army led by Henry "Harry Hotspur" Percy from Northumberland.

The battle, the first in which English archers  fought each other on English soil, demonstrated " the deadliness of the longbow" and ended the Percy  challenge to Henry IV

The exhibition explains the facts as we know them and introduces additional fun facts for children. Exhibits on display include a full armoured “Sir Nicholas”, various weaponry, a longbow archer and other medieval artefacts.
