Monthly Tasting Days on the first Saturday of every month - come and meet our local producers in the farm shop and try their delicious food!
July 2010: 24th / 25th July 2010 - Mediaeval Encampment, Archery, Combat, Justice and Have a Go Archery. Time table for both days - Have a go Archery 10.00am-11.00am, 12noon-1.30pm, 3.30pm-4.00pm; Combat at 11.00am; Archery Display at 2.00pm, Mediaeval Justice at 3.00pm. Also, in the Farm Shop from 11.00am-3.00pm on Saturday 24th, there will be the chance to meet local producers who will be on site to talk about and sample their products. Products to try will include fruit coulis from The Best of Taste Company, Jackson Cereal Bars from Baileys Real Food, Bings Heath Smotkery, BLUE and the famous herb oat biscuits from Shropshire Fine Herbs.
Have a go Archery! The Archers will be here on Sundays throughout the summer from 18th April (1.00 pm - 3.00 pm) so why not come along and have a go! (N.B. no archery on Sunday 4th July)

22nd May 2010 - 11.00 am - 3.00 pm Tasting Day - Heart of England Fine Foods & the launch of our new deli counter, our new summer menu and our new coffee machine!
14th April 2010 - 2.00 - 3.30 pm - Spring Birds - a talk by Martin George - tickets £5.00 with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes. Martin is the Wildlife Advice Manager at CJ Wild Bird Foods and a life time ornithologist with additional expertise in entomology and wildlife management. The talk will give a brief insight into the birds you are likely to see in your garden or on the Battlefield Walk.
10th April 2010 - 11.00 am to 3.00 pm Tasting Day - Once Upon a Tree - a relatively new cider company based in Putley 49 miles from Battlefield 1403.
24th April 2010 - 4.00 - 5.15 pm Morris Men Dancing - St George's Day Celebration

Tasting Day - Essential Dressings - come and sample tastings of delicious sweet sauces (including chocolate fudge and vanilla!), dressings, dips and drizzles.

Battlefield 1403 Tasting Day - we will be offering free tastings of the Battlefield 1403 Christmas range including mince pies, Christmas cake, Christmas pudding and turkey as well as a selection of our ever popular ready meals. We will also be holding a prize raffle in aid of Help for Heroes - the prize will be a Battlefield 1403 luxury hamper of Christmas goodies plus a copy of The Hero Inside, signed by Gill Shaw the photographer, and the Help for Heroes ale Peace Keeper.

Book Signing - Traditional Shropshire Food with Peter Brears - Peter Brears, author of Traditional Food in Shropshire, will be in the shop signing copies of his book which gives an insight into the history of Shropshire food. The book is the first major study of the subject and details the very distinctive methods developed over the centuries to convert the county's produce into a range of excellent dishes. There are over one hundred recipes and fascinating stories of explosive firewood and food riots!
